    Christmas melee

We have an extremely busy Christmas season, as do many people we know. This year we celebrated Christmas with several different groups of people. including BEST, CHEFA, Riverpark. & my family! It gets a little hectic.... o.k it gets very hectic!
The BEST Christmas party consisted of walking candy cane lane & doing a gift exchange. The CHEFA party was the classic Laser Quest thing. With Riverpark we played boardgames & gave money to a fund for less fortunate families. With my Moms parents we opened stockings & showed our grandpa how to use blogger. With my Dads parents we had a traditional Christmas day, but we had some Armenian delicacy's with our normal dinner! We had another dinner with Uncle Ron. The rest of his part of the family was out of the country. Most everything changed this year, so it was nice that Dad's parents didin't so much.

Oh and the sugar, yeah we had it, still have it.  We had our cousins Bryanna, Andrew, Nicole and Sarah over to build and decorate Gingerbread Houses. We also baked and decorated sugar cookies. Don't even begin to think this was the only sweets around, yep Mom baked tons of stuff. When I came home from drivers ed one day the whole house smelled awesome. I love holiday baking days!
Yeah it's crazy but it's clearly worth it.

    Contenders of the Faith

Contenders is a program Kinda like Boyscouts. The major difference, at least for us, is that we do it at home with your family. Another difference is we get to pick the badges we earn, well our parents pick some too. They usually pick ones for things we need to work on, like spelling. I have been doing it for 5 years, this is my 6th year. I have earned a lot of badges. It is fun to do. This year I am going to earn a number of badges, here they are.

    A really different Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve Eve the Shugert's spent the night at our house. They got here pretty late so it was pretty much just visiting for a while that night. In the morning they had our traditional cinnamon roll breakfast with us. Then our Dad drive them to the airport.

When Dad came home we had our time of opening gifts, which was awesome. But then Dad had to go to work. Mom, Billy & I had a quite day. We got a new Blue Ray Player and an HD TV, so that was awesome. That evening we watch a new movie and had pizza after Dad got home. We tried to go to the snow the weekend after Christmas (because we usually go on Christmas Eve) but that didn't work out either.

    Movie & Dinner

We went to go see The Blind Side with our homeschool group it was a good movie. After the movie we all walked over to Panda Express for dinner. We ended up staying at the resturant for a really long time just hanging out. I enjoyed it very much.

    Code 3!!!

During Christmas break I took a drivers ed class with code 3 driving school. I went to the class form 9:00 to 4:00 for an entire week! I had fun learning the different laws & regulations of the road. We took several tests a day & at the end the teacher compiled our scores to get our final grade, almost everyone passed the class. I hope to take the permit test asap!

Boy Scout Chrsitmas Campout & a visit from the grandparents

About two weeks ago I went on a campout with my troop. Some of the guys and I gather wood for a fire. Then we had a hot dog dinner and ate snacks. We also had a gift exchange, played games and watched a movie. For breakfast we ended up with pink eggs, something to do with the cleanser used to clean out the cooler. weird. I just stuck with the oatmeal. Then we played more games and ate candy and snacks that we forgot about the night before while we waited to get picked up.

I got home, took a shower and then Meme and Papa came over to our house. They brought us our Christmas stockings that they had hid money inside of. They aslo brought us a gift from Aunt Melissa and Uncle Paul. We taught them about blogging because our Grandpa is starting one of his own. Its called Jimmy three thumbs.

After they left we went to get our hair cut and to lense crafter to get my glasses fixed.

I was really tired after all that

    Jr High Christmas Party

This year our church hosted a western themed Christmas party for the jr high group. We had a wild west themed dinner, a costume contest, played dorky western games and read the bible. It was awesome!

    p.s
They wrapped this hung box over and over with several layers of plastic wrap. When we finally got the bottom layer..in a tiny box..there was a gift card for each of us from our youth pastors.

    Ice Skating

We went Ice skating at the Tenaya Lodge which is a hotel just below Yosemite. We have been ice skating lots, but this was the first time in an outdoor rink. We picked Bowen up on the way there. After we were done skating we had climbed a hill and had a snowball fight with Dad. Then we went back to the 4-runner where Mom had hot cocoa with candy canes and marshmallows. We also eat some chess pies that Granny had made.

    Friends Christmas Parties

The Montgomery's hosted a potluck with lots of sweets and warm drinks. They also had pumpkin soup and chicken matza ball soup. We played games and hung out. Then we all went caroling through the neighborhood. We rang the door bells and then started singing. People came out and we wished them a Merry Christmas. It was great to be with the Ranchos Gang.

The Lims just moved into their new house. So at this Christmas party we also got a walk through of the place. Austin had drinks & games set up in his bedroom. Austin always tells ghost stories too. The teens all hung out in Austin and Aubreys rooms most of the night. We only ventured out to fuel up on more great food. The Lims had all kinds of awesome things to eat. Every year they have these sour santa candies that no one can find around Fresno. Mrs. Lim sent away for them. We see the other kids only once a year at this party but we all get along well anyways. The other day went Billy & I were sitting outside of Starbucks we saw one of the guys..we said hey for a few minutes before he had to leave.

    Plays

Our friend Jillian was in the play Peter Pan at the Fresno Children's Theater Works. So we went to go support her and watch the play. She did a really good job. She was Wendy. Watching plays is more fun when you know whose in the play. This play suprised us because our friend Stephen was in it too. We didn't know until we were looking through the program before the play started. We got to say hey to him after the show though.

Our friends/cousins CJ, Elizabeth & Trisitea were in a play called "The Camel Lot" with their 4-h group. It was funny, they all did a good job. After the play we rode with them in a tour bus to the post-play cast party. We grabbed some snacks at the party. Then we drove out to their house to see their new puppies. I love puppies. We usually get to see them a few times a year between different people we know who breed dogs. Anyway we got to play with them while they were little & before they went off to there new homes.

The pets are all settled in new homes

Well first if you didn't know we had three cats, two rabbits and two dogs. Only the dogs got to move with us to Fresno. It was a mess trying to find homes for the rest of them.

Kansas the boy, is a cool cat. He thinks he is a dog. He is really friendly to everyone. He went to live with someone just before Christmas. He was a present for someone. They got he without ever looking at him. They had heard so many amazing stories about him from our friends...his charm was famous.

Tulip, the stuck up girl cat, likes men. She went to go live in a house with a single dad and his two teen boys. They liked her name so much they just kept it. She likes it because they are quiet. I don't think the boys live there full time either.

Mama Kitty went to go live out at our Meme and Papa's place in Chowchilla. She is so sweet. She is working her charm on our Grandparents.

Eden and Denali, the bunnies went back to the bunny farm we got them from. We here they will be having babies soon.

Eddy my Dalmatian and Leroy the Chocolate Lab /German Shepherd mix are settling into city life more and more each week. They were raised in Coarsegold and so all the noises of city life are freaky to them. Mom says soon we will start walking them around the neighborhood one at a time.

    Jogging

I have been trying to get good at jogging lately. Each day I go out & jog for around a half-hour. I do a mixture of walking and jogging, so that I can gradually work up to only jogging! I can jog for around three minutes right now & hope to increase this by the end of the week.

last week Billy and I went to a Christmas shindig put on by our home school group BEST. We had a good time walking down Candy Cane Lane. They go there because Christmas Tree Lane has gotten so busy! We played soccer, football, I've never and other games. We also had hot cocoa and snacks. One cool thing that happened with the gift exchange that I ended getting the gift Billy brought, which was what I wanted a Starbucks gift card.

    Lazer Quest

Every year CHEFA holds a Lazer Quest Christmas party.

We play 3 or 4 games each, eat & hang out in the arcade. This year I did pretty good but not nearly as good as I usually do. Two people came who couldn't play because they were wounded. Jessie has a broken neck, and Richard has a hurt knee. So they hung out & ate.... without playing. Jessie took pics, & Richard just talked. I had a great time talking, eating & killing people!
